Enrichment in Post 16

Enrichment is an important part of the Post‑16 experience at John Taylor Free School. Through a wide range of activities and opportunities, students are able to develop independence, confidence and experiences that support future progression into higher education, apprenticeships or employment.

Opportunities take place at lunchtime, after school and within a dedicated timetabled enrichment block. A broad range of activities, additional qualifications and experiences are available, allowing individuals to explore new interests and challenge themselves beyond the classroom.

Alongside the core programme, a number of specialist opportunities and partnerships are available, including programmes such as the Next Generation Football Academy. Further details about specific activities and timetabled opportunities can be found below or on the dedicated NGA Football Academy page.

Lunchtime and after school activities

A range of enrichment opportunities are available outside of lessons, providing ways to develop interests, build skills and take part in wider school life.

Some activities run alongside the Main School enrichment programme, with timings and options available via the link below.

Timetabled enrichment

A dedicated enrichment block forms part of the Post‑16 timetable, offering additional qualifications and structured activities that support personal development and future pathways.

Trips and visits

Trips and visits play an important role in enriching the Post‑16 experience, enhancing subject learning while providing wider cultural and social opportunities.

These opportunities help ensure a balanced and enriching Post‑16 experience alongside academic study.

Trip information and permissions are managed through MCAS.
