Careers and Post 18

Post-16 Student Support

We have a comprehensive careers education programme, which aims to

support students to succeed in their chosen career path.

CEIAG is central to our Post-16 provision at JTFS, as students study and progress through their Post-16 journey we know that they will need advice and guidance on their future aspirations. Our careers programme at Post-16 includes the following:

  • Students have access to high quality careers advice throughout their time at JTFS. During Post-16 all students will receive a one to one guidance interview during Year 12/13.
  • Students will have the opportunity to undertake a weeks work experience during Year 12, they may also choose to do regular work experience as an enrichment activity.
  • Students will use UniFrog to track all their careers encounters, research future careers and guide them through the UCAS application process.
  • Students will have the opportunity to go on various visits to universities and apprenticeships providers.
  • As part of the PSHCE programme students will undertake careers related activities during 'drop-down' days at intervals through the year.
