The decision about where to study Post-16, and which subjects, is an important yet challenging one.

Our aim at John Taylor Free School is to ensure all our students “succeed and thrive”, both whilst studying in our Post-16 provision and when they move onto their next stage in education or employment.

At John Taylor Free School, we achieve this by offering a stimulating and broad curriculum, both academic and vocational, to support all learners to achieve to the best of their abilities.

Alongside our subject curriculum, there is a comprehensive enrichment programme, including dedicated time for enrichment on student timetables. This allows our students to enhance their personal statements and thrive as a person, by dedicating time to activities or learning beyond their chosen three subjects.

We have a strong pastoral system, organised by student’s allocated House, which means our students are known and supported as individuals. It also means our students are closely supported both formally, through our rigorous PSHCE and outstanding careers guidance programme, and informally, as they consider their choices after Post-16 into careers and Higher Education.

Our provision at John Taylor Free School builds upon the successes seen as our school has grown over the last six years, maintaining high standards and pride in our school. Our staff are highly motivated, experienced and committed to preparing our students, both academically and beyond.
