Head of School Announced

Mrs Sue PlantMrs Sue Plant has been announced as the newly appointed Head of School Designate for John Taylor Free School.

Sue has worked in education for the last 23 years.  She has experience of a wide range of schools and different settings.  Her extensive leadership experience spans 2 highly successful Multi Academy Trusts based in the East Midlands.  With a background in leading teaching, learning and assessment in Outstanding schools, she is well placed to ensure the success of the John Taylor Free School.

She has established a Teaching School Alliance and School Centre for Initial Teacher Training and understands the importance of professional learning for teachers and leaders. Sue has been a Vice Principal, Interim Principal and Associate Trust Principal in 2 academies graded Outstanding by Ofsted.  Most recently, she has been working in School Improvement and was part of the team that moved a school from Requires Improvement to Good in just 1 year.  It has been her dream to open a brand new school for many years and she is delighted to be doing this with the support of the John Taylor MAT.

“This really is a once in a lifetime opportunity for me.  I have been planning this in my mind for a long time – I can’t wait to get started and meet the parents who want to send their children to the Free School.  I will be attending the consultation event on Wednesday 27th September and the open evening on 10th October and will be delighted to see as many interested parents there as possible.”

The consultation event will take place on Wednesday 27th September, 5:00pm – 6:30pm, the open evening on Tuesday 10th October, 6:00pm – 8:00pm. Both events will take place at John Taylor High School, Barton under Needwood.
